iPod Commands for each Generation

I don’t know if your like me but I own several versions of the iPod and there are times when you need to reset the device. However, with each new generation of the navigation wheel, Apple has changed the button sequences. Here is a site that illustrates the commands for each generation of the iPod navigation wheel.

Does Steve Ballmer have an iPod?

(FORTUNE Magazine) Do you have an iPod?

Steve Ballmer: “No, I do not. Nor do my children. My children–in many dimensions they’re as poorly behaved as many other children, but at least on this dimension I’ve got my kids brainwashed: You don’t use Google, and you don’t use an iPod.”

Now that is sad. Reminds me of the crazy christians (just the crazy ones) where they would not let their kids read Harry Potter because it could lead to witchcraft!

Awesome new iPod Mini Accessory

Now I finally found the best iPod Accessory that I can afford.

Gets yours on eBay while supplies last!

My favorite is the Q&A.

Q: Hey! I was wondering how much shipping to canada would cost? thanks!

A: Same as U.S. for our Canadian brothers. However I will not be able to include the cigarettes due to Canadian border importation duties.

Typical Canadian government. Have to pay duty on everything! Heck this could be a way of smuggling 4 cigs a time into Canada!!

Microsoft employee’s are using iPods by the thousands and Microsoft hates it!

I guess the Microsoft campus is full of people using Apple iPods and upper management is going nuts about it. Nothing they hate more is when employees don’t drink the company kool-aid. Everyone knows that the iPod is the best and nothing even comes close. I would rather use my first 5 Gig iPod that I bought in 2002 before I would buy/use an MP3 player not made by Apple!

I used to drink the Microsoft kool-aid as of a couple of years ago. I would recommend everything made from Microsoft. I would wear t-shirts they would provide at Microsoft sponsered events. There was even a time I would beta test any new product that came along. Not anymore! I still develop applications using .net. Microsoft.net is still my favorite development platform and I would never trade that in for anything else out there. Now, the only time I use Windows outside of work, is when I am playing video games. (NOTE: That is changing too because my favorite game also runs on the Mac)

I used to buy anything Microsoft came out with. Big mistake that was! Besides their keyboards and mice, everything else they make (or put their name on) has much been a complete waste of my money. I purchased their Tivo Killer: UltimateTV a couple of years ago. Now they don’t selll it anymore. I dropped $600 for a xBox when it first came out and now I wish I would have bought a PS2 instead. I have their wireless router which does not work right with the VPN at work. So even that will have to get replaced. (Oh and no surprise, they stopped making routers also!)

Hell, I use my Apple G5 for everything not related to work. Since I work at home, I’m using my Mac for email, rss reading, browsing and Instant Messaging. When I am developing I rotate 90 degrees and use my notebook.

Microsoft should learn from their employees and realize that their Windows Media sucks compared to iTunes and quicktime and they need to work harder to make the next iPod killer. Or better yet, forget about the iPod and worry about fixing the bugs and security holes in Windows XP and IE. Finally, please get Longhorn out the door before the next 4 versions of OS X makes Longhorn look obsolete before its even released!

The bigger question I have now is how many Microsoft employees are using Firefox instead of IE? :) Using a iPod may get you in trouble but using Firefox would probably get you fired!
