The new OS for the Mac has arrived and its pretty damn impressive. There are so many new features that I am still learning them all now.

First of all when was the last time you have purchased an OS from Microsoft where its faster and more responsive than the previous version on the same set of hardware? uh....NEVER! Well 10.4 is in fact more responsive than 10.3. It's truly amazing what the folks at Apple have been able to accomplish in just 18 months.

One of the coolest new features is Spotlight. Spotlight allows you to search your computer for any document/image/email almost instantly! This is what Longhorn WAS supposed to have but Microsoft dropped this feature from Longhorn because they could not get it working for the release date sometime 2006/2007/2008...

When I was at PDC in 2003 they were showing off Longhorn and its new features. My co workers were blown away. I was excited too, but I kept saying "hmm...Mac OS X does now that now....Sure looks like OS X...I wonder if the development team is using a Mac..." It's now 2005 and we have had a new version of OS X that's even better than before. What's really going to be sad is Longhorn is still at least 1 to 2 years away and Apple will have another OS version released before they get Longhorn out the door.
