Microsoft employees are making the switch to OS X

It’s always interesting to me when I hear Microsoft employees talking about how they own and love their Apple products on their personal blogs. Many of them will even admit that they own a mac at home and enjoy using it for everyday uses. Even a Microsoft employee can come to realize that Apple OS is as good or better than Windows.

I’m amazed that they even bring up that they use a Mac on their blogs due to that its read mostly by Microsoft loyalist.

The culture at Microsoft must be changing. I remember talking to a few Microsoft employees in the late 1990s about competing Microsoft products. I would be the one that would tell them the truth on how a non Microsoft product was better than theirs. It was not that I was trying to bash their product, but instead hope they would listen to me and take this information to make their product an even better one.

Man, did I get the look! Let’s just say my personal contact with them have diminished since then. However I am no longer interested on what they are working on next. (Really!)

It’s really funny because I used to work with this guy at my old company in the mid 1990’s that I would have to say was a Microsoft Whore! He would tell them and do anything for them to get free crap. When I look back on it, it really was pathatic on how bad he kissed their ass to make sure they liked him.

I still like Microsoft’s developer products but I am no longer part of their army of believers that will do and say anything in the name of Microsoft. The computer industry has changed and I guess so have I. Instead of being a free beta tester in my free time, I have taken the time to understand things that will make my developer skills better like Design Patterns and Refactoring.

To be honest, I would rather play around on my Mac when I am not working on the next great .net application for my client!
